Tips and tricks

  • We recommend using Turkish liras while making purchases at local markets and shops. In order to exchange money at a profitable rate, choose currency exchange offices or post offices. Note that the airport offers the lowest exchange rate.
  • In Side, there are three main mobile operators: Turkcell, Türk Telekom, and Vodafone. You can buy a SIM card at one of their offices, as well as in shopping centres, and large hotels.
  • Don’t miss the opportunity to bargain at the markets so that you could show respect for the local culture and get a good discount.
  • Be sure to head to Novamall Manavgat, the main shopping centre in the city. There are numerous shops and fashionable boutiques, cafes, restaurants, children’s playgrounds, and even a concert hall. The mall regularly hosts concerts, theatrical shows, festivals, and children’s events.
  • For visiting mosques and other religious sights, you should wear modest clothes covering your head, knees, and shoulders.
  • Look into Norden Restoran Bar, TWINS Restaurant Bar, and Emir Bistro & Butik Hotel in order to taste such dishes of Turkish cuisine as meze, kebab, pilaw, börek, and baklava.
