Tips and tricks

• You can exchange currency at a favourable rate at the exchange offices situated in Nevşehir, at DenizBank in Göreme, as well as at local jewellery stores or post offices.
• Dress modestly before visiting the mosques and other shrines of Cappadocia.
• When going for a walk in valleys and caves, make sure that you’re wearing comfortable shoes. It would also be better to apply sunscreen and bring plenty of drinking water.
• Try such dishes of local cuisine as lentil soup, dolma, saç kavurma (heavily fried meat with vegetables), testi kebab (meat in a clay pot), börek, trileçe, and baklava. 
• We recommend visiting Nazar Börek and Coffeedocia located in Göreme, Saklı Konak Restaurant in Uçhisar, and Dünya İskender Kebap in Ürgüp.
• If you want take a flight in a hot air balloon, do not stay in Ortahisar, Ürgüp, or Avanos, as these kinds of flights are not organised there. Note that the flight price can be affected by both time of day and even the month. In spring, summer, and in early autumn, it is usually higher than in winter. And a morning flight is more expensive than the one you could take in the afternoon. On average, the prices vary from 150 to 230 euros per flight.
